Project Description

Bus Rapid Transit “Osborne Street” Main Station

Set on a rail bridge expansion spanning above Osborne Street South, the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Main Station is the jewel in the BRT system.  Winner of multiple awards, this station is flooded with natural light during the day, thanks to its translucent polymer roof and tilted curtain wall side walls.  At night, the light illuminates the surrounding area, making the station easy to find and safe for all users.  The station, whose design is equally inspired by traditional European Train Stations and the rich treed canopy of Winnipeg, is naturally cooled by wind currents flowing through the grills at the station’s base and exiting through the ridge vents at the roof line.
